It simply means that it is immature, and pointless. Please stop it.

Curt,
How ya been? Anyway, your comment on the prior page about making Dublin international is nonsensical as Ireland was only made into an independent dominion after WWI (think Easter Uprising, 1916). Of course, afterwards it completely split, but prior to WWI it was definitely a part of the UK.

Wow, that certainly is a tough matchup Curt, I suppose thats your way of challenging the players to build artillery and later tanks or storm troopers right?

I'm on the case!!!
But are these cities going to have generic events or will they be aimed specifically at being conquored by a specific civ? Like say Belgrade falling to the Turks or will it be Belgrade falling for anybody at all?

Here's my first submission, for Canada and Australia's entrance into the war. Remember, if you don't like them at all feel free to let me know. I can change them however the need to be changed.
Canada
------
There was never any doubt that Canadians would stand side by side the British in this time of war. From the rich seas of the Maritime to the towering mountains of the Pacific North West, young and old Canadians alike have rushed recruitment centers by the tens of thousands to take up arms and fight for under the Union Jack. Canada will field some of the finest divisions in the entire British army.
Australia
----------
Once Great Britain's most far flung colonies, the Commonwealth of Australia and New Zealand have grown to become prosperous and rich nations with a generation of young and old men eager to fight side by side with their brothers in arms in England. The Australia New Zealand Army Corps will produce some of the most well trained divisions in all of the British army.

Mistake corrected, and I'm not too sure what your getting at with that spearheading the offensive comment. Are you talking about The Somme?

One for the Easter Rising:
Easter Monday, 1916. A small and bewildered crowd gather to hear P.H. Pearse read the Proclamation of an Irish Republic outside the General Post Office.
Subscribing to the old Fenian maxim: "England's difficulty is Ireland's opportunity", some 2,000 members of the Irish Volunteers seize and occupy several key locations around Dublin, where they dig themselves in and prepare for the inevitable British onslaught...
Another one for when the British retake Dublin (if they lose it).
In the end, the Volunteers are ill-equipped to fight the British; relentless pounding by artillery reduces the rebel defences (and most of Dublin) to rubble. Exhausted, they emerge from the ruins and surrender.
The British response is swift and ruthless. All signatories of the proclamation are executed, while the Volunteers are placed in internment camps in England. In the face of such brutality, the anger of the Irish people is re-directed from the Volunteers to the British, sowing the seeds for the War of Indepedence in 1919...

Curt I took a look at the sav file. I agree that there are too many cities in areas that are irrelevant or anachronistic in Great War terms. It's been a while since I've read through the thread, so be patient if I'm just repeating someone else. My suggestions:
- Egyptian/Sudanese cities are fine. British control.
- Tobruk should be deleted. If you want, put in Bengasi a Knight's move to the NW.
- Add Medina (159,93) and end the RR there. No RR to Mecca.
- Add Alexandretta at 155,77
- Move Ankara to 153,73
- Found Beirut at 154,80 after changing to grassland or plains.
- Basra/Abadan (an oil city) at 162,84. Actually Abadan is the oil source, but it's smaller and falls within Basra's city limits
- Sahara isn't dry enough. Only the Nile and a coastal strip 1 square wide should be plains or grass. West coast of Red Sea should be desert. Desert should cost a lot to enter. Maybe your Arab unit should be alpine with a limited mf.
- There should be a load of mountains between Tehran and Baghdad with maybe a single pass. No elevated west of Baghdad, just dry, dry desert.
- Anatolia should have lots more hills. Should be really tough to go after any Turk city. Likewise the Balkans. >80% of the squares in these regions should be non-plains/grasslands.
- RR should go from Ankara to Alexandretta then fork to Baghdad and Damascus. From Damascus to Medina down the 157 column. NO RR's down the 155 and 156 columns.
- Arabian terrain is much too nice.
- Didn't someone mention populating German African colonies?
- I agree with others' lists of unneeded cities. Was Northern Norway on that list?

Bloemfontein shouldn't be owned by the Germans, it should be owned by the Brits, it's Windhoek (which needs to be moved so it isn't a coastal city) that is.
Inhambane is a part of Mozambique, which was owned by Portugal, so that should be neutral.
Mogadishu was part of the Italian Somalialand, so that should be owned by Italy.
Constantinople, not Ankara, was the capital of the Ottoman Empire. Baghdad and Basrah should also be owned by the Ottomans.
No Panama canal, Curt?
Japan owns Korea and Formosa, and I don't believe Taiwan at that time had any real commercial value, so I'd get rid of any high-trade zones there, if you intend on keeping it.
I'll hold off on any more stuff here, because you may already know this stuff and didn't need to hear it repeated. But if not, I'll continue just for the record.
