MW's heal to 100% in fungus so hit "L" and leave there.

Move the spore launcher to Virgin Soil and pop the pod in passing.

Move rover N and possibly support the CP with it.

Move the foil N-N.

Virgin Soil- build former
Fallow Times-multiple CP's

Move slider to 50-50 for 3 EC's and research in 10. With addition of 4th base we'll produce 5 EC's per turn. We should be able to make the Planned SE switch in 6 turns or 7 at the latest. With 4 bases we lose 8 production each turn we are NOT in Planned.

Foil: How about NW N as a compromise? Explore most squares and keep a little away from our own coast.

Gaian intelligence Report:

The Spartans did not play their turn in the last 24 hours, though their turnplayer did post on the forums. This probably means little, but it could be a sign of first contact between the factions. As the Spartans and Angels both have fast units, it's likely they'll contact first.

Of course, as I said that, he posted the turn

Put an end to popups!

If you are correct, that would mean that they share the large continent to our NE. Let's watch the power graph and faction profiles closely for signs of tech trades and resulting SE changes.

Plan of Action for 2119 Inflate your Upload Space

Southern scout can't move much because of impending growth

Northern scout heads east towards pod

Spore launcher approaches that pod - both units will handle popping it

Unity rover moves northish, to explore the area west of base #2 eventually, and in the long term meet back up with the unity foil to explore other lands

Mind worm heals

Move CP to base site #4

Base 4: Former in queue (2 turns from now)

Worm-rover explore

Foil N-N or N-NE. Note, it would be o.k. pop more pods I think. When are we going to need a foil? A probe team seems an unlikely build for 15 years or so. Even better though would be to load a MW on the foil and land it somewhere else to troll and pod-pop far from home. If we find another worm on this end of our island, let's consider putting it to sea.

Pop pod with Spore launcher with scout watching (2 turns)

Former keep roading North

Looking good Gaia!

Notes on future base sites. The square just NE of our rover looks like a good future site once cleared of fungus. It's a strong coastal position pointing the way to our enemies across the sea.

Next turn, the mind worm should have 30% damage, so if we attack another mind worm, we should have slightly better than 50-50 odds, but there's also the substantial chance to capture. Of course finding a nearby monolith would solve this.

Future forming plans:

Existing former moves north, roads, and solars.
New former at base #3 moves southwest, roads, and can then move south to speed up the solar, if needed.

Then road both east and west, setting up forests where opportune (such as adjacent to base #2, on the west).

Well, there might be a land route to another faction, and if there is, the unity rover is best positioned to take it. The foil can take it across a sea should no land route exist.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

A mindworm is a better choice for surfing than the rover. Other natives don't attack our mindworms, but they'll slice up our rover which will spend two-thirds of it's existence trying to heal. If we have the choice, go with a MW.

As MW's are able to heal completely while in the fungus, they are the obvious choice for long distance operations, IMHO.

Healing:

Units heal 10% per turn they do not move, attack, or get attacked. "Turn" refers to a game year, start to finish, native life to the last player. I'm not sure when during a turn units heal, but I think it's at the start of the turn after those conditions are satisfied.

Units in friendly territory heal 10% more
Units in bases heal 10% more, or completely if the appropriate facility is in the base
Native life in fungus heals 10% more (may not stack with base effect)

Note that units in pactmates' bases heal 20% per turn, vs 30% per turn in friendly bases.

Units cannot heal to less than 20% damage, unless:
They are in bases
They are native life in fungus
You have the Nano Factory
Also possibly if you have the pholus mutagen and your units are in fungus, not sure on that.

I bring it up because our rover is the closest unit to link up with the foil, but the rover could troll fungus on a river at home instead. Our mw is farthest from the foil. Hopefully we'll soon capture another mw, but it may be worth considering bringing the mw north instead of exploring the rest of the south. The Spore launcher could do that, ignoring any worms it uncovers. But where to send a MW via unity foil? Maybe we should look at the world map again.

My vote would be for the largest looking continent, or one with attachment to the poles. This allows an avenue of escape for mindworms or other units uncovered. The foil can then return to pick up a probe team.

Illuminatus does have a point r/e making contact though. Ideally our worm would land on someone's continent, make contact, and pop some pods on their turf.

We know that a Hive base is located on the landmass to our NW thanks to that earlier disclosure. Do we want to make contact with an AI controlled faction or with a human controlled faction? We might do welll with The Hive for as long as we avoid Demo SE and are near the bottem on the power graph. On the other hand, we might completely disrupt a human controlled faction and throw them completely off balance. So, which should we seek? And where are we likely to find them?

If we use our MW for this operation I think we should have it get the two morale boosts available here before departing. Then, finding just one more monolith somewhere out there would make our MW most formidable.

I think we should go to find out which is the base on our neighbouring SW end of X-continet (review the Gaia report). Hive was intended to be target of expansion - probably boosted in some way. I could swear that we will find Moonson Jungle if we go to look for Hive - map creator said that Hive will have some excellent terrain. I would vote for dropping MW on SW end, and determining what faction si this, and using unity rover to explore towards north, and perhaps trolling another MW which will go and meet the Hive.

Mebbe he means from resting?

Method's been online an hour or two, but no turn yet. I think if we see another longish delay that doubles the liklihood that they've made contact and are negotiating.....

Speaking of which. Perhaps we should be prepared for contact. I propose that we take any flat deals offered. IE, for techs not on the line to IA, for techs on the line to IA. Treaties, but definately no pacts....yet. Nor offerings of world map. It would truly stink to have the Spartans land a CP in the Uranium Flats!

No. Monoliths only raise morale a single time, even the Stonehenge like ones in the ruins. I try to get my worms to pre-boil before hitting a monolith ---> boil, but it's fine to go now if we want to hop on the foil.

'Hop on the Foil, Boil'
'No need to be Coy Fungboy'
'It's a new gun, son'
'We're on our way'

Plan of Action for 2120 Tired of ads?

Found base #4

Move mindworm back north, on the way to exploring the north

Pop pod with the spore launcher, contain damage with the scout if needed, else send it back to base #2 for future drone control

Pop pod with unity rover, then move into base #4. Later wait one turn to heal (or pursue a monolith)

If at any point we accumulate 40 ECs, switch to Planned. If ECs are left over, rush some formers.

Head northeasterly with the foil

Well, someone did suggest moving the mindworm. It can rest next turn, though.

Yeah, the rover can't pop it next turn, but the plan is for it to pop the pod. I would have figured it out no later than playing the turn, anyway.

Got spare money?

The turn is in. CT's last post was at 22:00, so we can probably look for him to play our turn ~8:00. Should I, as deputy be playing our turns if our actions are clear and CT isn't around?

At this pace I suggest that people make comments for upcoming turns as well. Here are some questions you might address.

  • Research vs. EC's :What ratio should we keep?
  • Meeting other Factions: What policy for first contact?
  • Pathways for explorers: Look several turns ahead in your suggestions
  • To Rush-build or not: After switching to Planned, what to rush-build?
  • Future Base Sites: Make opinions known
  • Micro-management: How many garrisons do we need now and in upcoming turns?
