I would expect the rover to enter the forest east from HG, and this is probably what we will see when opening 2162. My guess is that it will then attack HG base. So we might then probe both syth infantry and impact rover next turn. I will write more in Security Nexus. Describe the defense plan. I think we better probe both hive units before Yang has a chence for sneaky attack.

Analysing the Spartan history makes me think they are playing the role of Spartans as far as posible.

If Spartans dont want to take DA over then they would be lilling to a non-agression pact and if it is broken then the breaker automaticly looses.

If they do not agree to this then I see us having to Pack with the other factions and hope that all of use can stop Spartan growth.

Quite reasonable. Let us consider what we will gain and what we may loose proposing non-aggresion agreement to Spartans.

The agreement will probably hold them off. If prepared appropriately, as long as we will stay within its limits we probably will stay safe.

Losses - our relations with Spartans will probably cool down a bit. So far they were willing to go for quite far research agreements. Intelectual Integrity is a very good example. I would point, that they may be uncertain about its future still - after they attacked Morganities. They for sure consider possible retaliation if we refuse to transfer IntInt. I think that task force about which Mead informed is is for that purpose - to attack us if we withdraw from this deal. Anyway, I would not fail Spartans here - our credibility and possible future relations depend on it. I would keep them now informed exactly when they are going to get IntInt. Part of the agreement was to allow them build CDF. Let them do it. we will deal with it in other ways.
Asking them for non-aggresion agreement would definitely make us more unfriendly.

I don't see (yet) a reason to ask them for this. Agree they may be willing to take by force if we don't deliver our part of a deal, but we would do the same when that happens.

As you say, keeping them informed will delay their eventual attention to us, and that is what we need: time to prepare for the endgame. Since we are the faction they have best dealings with I think they will wait to handle us untill last for they can't war 3 teams at once, how high their production may be.

We should stay with agreements to keep up the DA reputation even if the initial outcome is not what we want.

With so much being up in the air we may want to wait a turn to hopefully see which way the faction wind is blowing.

This PM came in, appearantly as a response to my questions in their public report thread. It's more or less a confirmation that the Morgans have infiltrated the Spartans if they claim to be able to give us info for mutual defense. Interesting...

't Would certainly be interesting to see what info the Morgans would send us regarding that raid earlier on, and appearantly we don't need to accept a Pact for it.

Thoughts?

He does seem to think (or make us scared for) a Spartan attack on us.

I think accepting a pact with the Morgans would get us into that war with the Spartans even quicker. But Mart is right, we need to get building some defence units and a command centre.

No talks with Gaians regarding details yet - we might start them.

We probably need to think of some official announcement regarding Pact with Gaians. Also how to explain Morganities, if we choose to refuse them Pact. I would not go for Pact with Morgan Industries before hostilities with Spartans would start - if they start soon.

Except from the PK's, the Spartans can't have map info from us so will be fighting blind in case of an attack... or could they recently have stolen the Morgan worldmap as well?

And if your production plan works we should have plasma a defender prototyped by then.

See if we can negotiate Impact from Gaians as part of the Pact arrangement (and for their screw up over Cyber). Also as a offensive/defensive measure against possible Yang or Spartan threat.

Remember though, we don't want the pact until we have infiltrated the Gaians, unless we can also infiltrate pact partner without discovery.

Did someone mention that you can't infiltrate a Pact partner.?

When you probe, (in Pact but before infiltration) the only choice may be to steal a tech, which we wouldn't want to do to jeapodise the relationship.

We might get a screen advising us that we may be discovered.

Must test this somwhere.

Oh, never had to try that before I guess.

It will take at least 4 turns to get to the Gaians. That's about 3 weeks from now. Sounds long to let Pact discussions drag on.

Well, at least in SP a pacted faction can be infiltrated.

First there is the usual warning if I really want to perform a probe action on a pacted base, and after clicking yes I see the options possible with the current tech level.

Geo, I will setup a multiplayer game for two factions and try to infiltrate one with the other by a probe. A bit more work to do, but can answer our question.
