In the north that warrior outside of Mansill should move two south of mandill then begin pilliage. That road tile near mandill wont do Monty any good anyway for a long time.
I am looking at H_E's retreat map in the 550 BC thread so Im not sure about this but that warrior can go 2,2 of mandill and pilligae AFTER the NM and worker go, 2, 2, 3 of mandill
The NM and worker south of mandill need to move three down the road first.
The units outside of siamang need to move on the road or move north and begin pilliging.
That warrior outside of siamang can move up to 9,8,8 of siamang and cut the road section on the hill. but wait till next turn so the retreating forces from mandill get to go south first on the road.
The two NMs in the hills NE of Siamang can move onto the remaining road sections north of siamang and have the rest of the road pilliged next turn after the mandill units get south.
That way I think the most Monty will get is the warrior just south of mandill right now, next turn he cuts the road when Monty is right next to him..
The only downside to this plan is when the horses can attack our NM when its one tile outside of siamang.
But since its 2 attack to three defend Im not too worried.
Next topic::::can you fit one or two units on a galley?
Hmmmm
The NM outside the ruins of bonobo, Im thinking of moving him towards Capuchin. Why because it may pull the Monty forces that way and give us a couple turns to get organized at siamang or sout wherever we make our stand.
And if two can fit on a galley and they dont chase the bonobo NM then maybe we can evacuate him.
If they chase him and we can only fit one on a galley he maybe sacrificed but that will ceretainly delay Monty's move south for a few turns.
I think thats the way to pilliage as efficiently as possible (ie getting max amount of road pilliaged as you stay just ahead of Monty.)
Set Siamang to walls this turn we can always change it and pop rush next turn.
Down south its up to you guys.
See whats around mandill in the north, if no enemy units are next to it, it may hold out to build that warrior. Enemy means CoD as well.
If Mandill does not have enemy units next to it then we get a warrior next turn and then can disband. That warrior will probably be caught north of our lines but we maybe able to use to divert force by threatening to cut the roads they build south eventually.
Thats all I can think of now, make sure the south is set for max sheild production, trying to get to republic before we GA just aint gonna happen, too many enemy units and we are going to have to use NM's to stop em.
Thats my take, Ill try to be in chat Beta but it will be closer to 1000PM EST for me.

I am OK with making a stand at Simang.
My only concerns are the barbs at our Southern border, whichs means we have to leave 2 mercs down there for defense.
But that would be the same where ever we decide to make a stand.
And also, it is further from our capital, which means our reinforcements take longer to get there.
The advantage is however, we can consolidate our defences into 1 city,
They pretty much cant go around it...they have to go through it.
We can rush walls.
The other problem is our GA & republic.
We are not going to make republic in time. And I want to avoid having anarchy when 1. We are at war & 2. are in a GA.
So...I suggest we tweak our workforce for military production. Minimal rushing until we really need them.
Gold is useless to us, so we might as well just go full pelt for republic anyway, but not at the cost of military production (ie we want shields not gold). Use the luxury slider to keep our large cities in order.
The enemy will probably send out 1 horseman ahead to scout each turn. Our question will be whether we want to use a merc to kill it, and get our GA now. We will get a minor boost, which will help in Merc production now.
Or do we hang off on setting off our GA until the last possible moment, and hope for our diplomacy wins out.
Finally... our ultimate escape route to Monkey Island.
Do we want to make evacuation plans ?

(1) The Merc & the worker move south along the road 2,3,2
(2) The warrior moves south 2 and then pillages the road
(3) The warrior from Siamang9 moves 2 tiles north 8,8 , and pillages the road on the hill
(4) Our newly produced archer from Simang, can move 2 tiles north and pillage the road.
(5) Our Northern Merc Continues to run south
(6) Our two injured mercs skip a turn to heal...(They will heal right ?)
(7) Our Galley moves towards Capuchin
When Python opens the save, they can attack 2 warriors with their horsemen.
The may want to then pile all their horses onto the hill, but I doubt they will.
Most likely they will keep them in their stack.
It does not really matter what they choose to do.
On our turn, we move everything to Simang9. I count we can get 3 NM, & 1 archer on that tile.
The horse/s will be committing suicide on our stack....I doubt they will attack.
We still have 1 lonesome merc on a hill...he will have to take his chances.
Doing it this way, we will guarantee the pillaging of 3 tiles directly leading to our civ on our first turn.
We will lose 2 warriors.
Everyone else should escape.
