1500bc turn played. Thanks for the tips H_E. You raise some good points.
In the north - Cheetah can see more of the Python border, and it would appear that he is now blocked by it. Furthemore, he just left a Python spear and settler pair who were standing beside him, so I suspect we may be in the way now.
con - can you contact Python, make our apologies for getting in their way, and ask how they would leike us to extract Cheetah so he does not interfere with what they are trying to do. Thanks.

And Jojo moved to a hill where he can heal the next two turns before moving on.
Down south - rearranged the monkeys so the NM is with the worker, and warrior is in Orangutan, and the PC warrior can get to all the remaining cities in one move.
PC build changed to NM - out next turn.
Worker Churchill, after much debate between me, myself, and I decided on irrigating the grassland. The three food tiles here will ofset nicely the forst tiles next to Chimpanzee. Also - Chimp is producing a worker first - we may want to reconsider that as it does not have a granary, and takes the full 10 turns to get back the pop point.

And way down south - no screenshot - Giles moved one tile SE (3). He cannot see either the CoD scout - or any barbs as of yet. But I know they are out there somewhere. Wish we had a NM down here. Giles is scared.

Beta..Are you sure it was a settler ?
I am at work, so I cant check...but when I opened the save last night, I thought it was a worker pair.
I could be wrong.

Beta, be very careful putting our Mercs where they can be attacked.
It Python wanted to screw us, they could suicide their warrior against our Merc.
We then get a very early GA.
We are not ready for it and dont even have our core down yet.
And worse still...we are still in despotism. And heaven knows you dont ever want a despotic GA
I did this in the islands PBEM.
I found a wandering hoplite, and suicided my warrior against it.
Greece had a despotic GA with only 3 cities.
A big risk by me to upset a neighbour... but I think it has lost the game for him.

I dont think we get 3 food until we are out of despotism.
Just road areas we want to irrigate.
When we hit republic, then we can go back & irrigate.

I agree. This game is turning into a land grab. I would risk yet another grainery...but Chimpanzie is not the best city for it.
Perhaps a barracks or even a regular NM.

Get him on that hill and camp him.
He will see the COD scout coming and can pop the goodie hut if needed.
PC's Merc should head south and get rid of that barb camp.
We definately need some more Mercs.
Mercs & settlers.
And another grainery in either/both Gorilla or Orangutan would not go astray.
From what I have heard from GS in PTWDG, once they were certain they had a trustworthy peaceful northern neighbour , they invested heavily in graineries. And their economy now is clearly the most powerful...perhaps matched only by Lego.
