	Arnelos' Re-Election Campaign Avatar Enlargement: We've got the solution

Yes, I am running for re-election as Consul.

I'm going to be gone for the first day of the election, so I'm putting together this information ahead of time and posting it for the voting public. In my election campaign in November, I ran on a number of things which I have worked on during my term and which I would like to repeat here, with some modification:

* Experience working as an executive in democracy games. I believe my record demonstrates that I act responsibly as the executive in chats.

* Organization I can bring to the Consulate. In particular, my turn report system which has now become fully adopted by all of the Consuls. Concerning this area, the threads I have linked below concerning various consular decisions may be helpful.

* Commitment to providing for adequate debate and discussion before matters are rushed through or decided without adequate input. I generally encourage rather discourage debate and discussion, something which can be clearly seen from my record here as Consul as well as from my record as an executive in other democracy games. There are issues upon which the Consulate must make decisions among themselves, chiefly concerning the running of turnchats, but most issues need to be discussed by the team as a whole and I have actively worked to encourage that among the leadership during my term. My record also shows that I tend to be a stickler for following the rules and making sure that popular will, when expressed, is honored.

* Transparency. The turn reports are part of this, providing the reasoning behind orders with the turn report is another important part of this. Also being open and honest with the team about why decisions are made and asking for their input is vital to maintaining a transparent and thus democratic government for our team. Members of the team must be able to see what their leaders are doing and why. I have done what I can over my term to help with that.

As for my availability, I have not at all times been available, but I have used my times in inavailability to encourage others on the team to become more involved. During my last absence, BigFurryMonster was made Deputy Consul and I encouraged the Consulate to consider chat times that would be conducive to European members such as him. For my upcoming absence this weekend, I started hunting for potential Deputy Consuls over a week ago and I have someone ready who also has never served as a Consul or Deputy Consul before willing to take on the role this weekend.

As for when I have been here, I have upheld the duties of my office and my responsibility to play turns. During my term, I have actually run and posted turn reports for OVER 1/3 of the turnchats and posted the reports for them (yes, I've literally counted them for writing this post).

Ok, I just got back from a major drink-fest and I am not entirely sober (yeah, I have to check each word for spelling) but I just have to say that Arnelos is one of the best people for the job of consul. I might be the entire opposite of him politically, and hell, yeah, I might be the entire opposite of him demo-game wise (RP) but I think that all of us, as the FAM, made a wonderful team and with any of us as Consul we would get a lot of stuff done that perhaps we couldn't as mere citizens.

Perhaps if I knew that there as someone worthy of filling a consul's shoes at this moment I'd be temped to lobby for the underdog, but the chance isn't now. For the moment I support Arnelos's re-election campaing 100% and hope we can count on consuls of his caliber for the near future.

Holy ****, my spelling wasn't all that bad. Amazing what you can get with $10 in the third world... (especially if it's rum)

a little history on that chat.

Due to UnO's rather... "unconventional"... preferences for chat times (5am!!) we had a chat with GS at that time in the wee morning. It was a friday and I had just come back from a party and actually remembered that I had a chat to conduct. H_E joined us and he was in the middle of having his own little fest with a bottle of bourbon.

It was hilarious. The chat with GS in itself was ok, but it was our own private GoW chat which had us all cracked up. Maybe once the PTWDG is over I'll post it.

Yes, GF is just like that sober, I think the artillery fire has addled his mind a bit, and I deserve a medal for keeping all of them in line long enough to discuss ANYTHING with you guys.

For people like me, who don´t have enough time to participate more actively at Apolyton´s matters, is a pleasure to know that Arnelos is taking care of them with the profesionality and good work characteristic of him. I feel safe knowing that he is taking care of Poly's business.

I know Arnelos now more than a year. Arnelos the FAM in SPDG I, Arnelos the President, Arnelos the FAM in Roleplay, and last but not least Arnelos the ISDG Consul. All Arnelosses have done excellent jobs so far and I trust him that his second term will be even better than all Arnelosses that I know before .

I there fore encourage all to vote in favor of Arnelos, so that Apolyton may become greater, bigger, more powerful and richer than it already was.
