CITY: City improvements
Gösta Lönnelid:
- Radarstations: Defense strength of air units in city are doubled vs. air units.
Ted MacGillivray:
- Propeganda: Propeganda has played a major role in
civilization in reality; Why not in Civ? My suggestion is that it be a
Capitalization type improvement. I haven't quite figured out how it would
work, but it would increase your chances of declaring war under a democracy
and republic, and decrease unhappiness caused by troops away from home. It
would also bring slight trade bonuses.
Jens Kroemer:
- If a city is placed at a river or canal, which MUST be connected with an
ocean square, you should be able to built a kind of 'inland-harbour'
which increases food and/or trade. An ordinary harbour should increase
trade, too.
- A National Parc as a city improvement to avoid global warming and/or to
change e.g. one citizen from content to happy.
Drew Stephens:
- New city improvments which would help with happiness could be
stadium or amusement park.
Sean M. Punch:
- New city improvement: Internet. Phone lines would be a neat terrain
improvement, but probably messy. Instead of running phone lines all over
the place, allow a "data network" improvement to be built in the city.
This would create extra trade in proportion to the total trade of all
other cities with the same improvement. For added fun, make sure that an
attack by a Nuclear unit automatically destroys this improvement...
- New city rules: Recycling for fun and profit. Perhaps the Recycling
Centre improvement should add a shield or two to the city's production,
reflecting the efficient re-use of resources?
- New city rules: The trains run on time! Perhaps the Mass Transit
improvement should add a trade or two in the city, by the same logic
that Superhighways do?
