Acqird Tast:

  • When making a customized map, you should have the option of manual placement of resources, rather than having ONLY a random placement (which changes by the time you actually play the game, anyways)

Robert Breiten:

  • I love the patch for automated settlers. I think in civ III they should include a way to automate military units to do things like navel patrols and go to any city on the continent under attack. I really think this would save allot of boring repetitious movement to control.

YYW:

  • How about instead of the cities marked on the global map have countries marked

Ted MacGillivray:

  • Custom levels: You should be able to set various options such as how unhappy your people are, how smart the computer AI is, wheather it gets production bonuses, etcetera.

Jason Atkinson:

  • Change and control goverment with rules.txt. You should be able to control names, max tax rates, curruption rates, senate interference, and all the other aspects of a goverment.

Adam Gitner:

  • There should be a WHOLE lot of room for customizing civ III. AT least 10 free units and techs. 5 free governments. Also, customizing WOWs and city improvements.

Jason Atkinson:

  • Ability to play games with up to 10, mabye even 12, civilizations. New colors such as grey, black, dark green.

Jonathan Cedrum:

  • When you choose to custom a civilization, lets say you want to play the Swedes, you always just get 3 techs from the beginning: roads, irrigation, and mining. But if you start with a "normal" civilization, lets say the english, you can get extra techs, like pottery, horsebackriding etc.

I think in Civ III, when you want to choose a custom civ, you should be able to get extra, randomized techs.

I mean, one of the fun parts in the game is that you`re able to play your "own" civ (in my case Swedish), and its not fair that you should be penalized for that.

Cor Smal:

  • Include a rules.txt editor

  • Create your own WOWs (f.i. tulip fields).
